Collingwood Inline Hockey is starting this spring/summer in Collingwood behind the YMCA. It is our hope that this sport will catch on and we will register as a "not for profit" organization; however, in the meantime, we are registered with the Ontario Minor Roller Hockey Association (OMRHA - www.omrha.com) and the National Inline Hockey Association (NIHA - www.niha.ca). We will offer Shinny Inline Hockey from May to Sept. If we have enough interest, we will look for coaches and set up a league.

ABOUT INLINE HOCKEY

Inline hockey is one of the fastest growing sports in the U.S. today. The sport is a fast action pact game with lots of goals (last year in Halton 18 was the average goals per game). Why so many goals? Roller hockey is a non-contact game that relies on the speed and finesse of it's players. There are no off-sides, so the transitions of the game are very quick creating many offensive opportunities. Does roller hockey improve your Ice HockeySkills? Absolutely! The muscle groups required for skating as well as the skills needed to play the game are the same as the ice version. However, because the game is played 4 on 4, players are forced to play the puck and skate more than ice version providing a great developmental atmosphere for the game of hockey. So, come on out and enjoy the fastest game on earth!!
